Aside from a smaller screen, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max share the same specs, including the same A16 Bionic processor. We tested the display of the iPhone 14 Pro and, as expected, the results were overall the same as those of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Only slight differences were observed between the two models in terms of readability, where the iPhone 14 Pro’s screen was slightly darker in indoor and on-the-go conditions. For all other attributes, the two iPhone 14 models performed identically.

Pros

  • Enhanced outdoor performance, thanks to impressive brightness (measured at over 2000 nits) which improves readability and color rendering

  • Hardly any dropped frames are visible during video playback or gaming

versus

  • Slightly low brightness inside
  • Some inaccurate lighting transitions when watching video content
