Turn off wifi, and tap on the "Play" button. The message of network error will come up. Close the book, turn on wifi, and then open the book again. The ticket symbol next to "Play“ will be missing, and you can read without using a ticket.
What about the banned account? Can still play the game without getting a pop up message for it? I'd really love to update the game without a problem if the wifi tricks still can be used.. there are some scenes where MC gets a text messages, and I don't see anything...so, I assumed that this problem is related to the outdated version.
yes it suck to know that 1.5.4 version is no longer usefull, i mean three book were frozen and i didn't get any day passes this week

I installed 1.6.2 version to get pass a scene in 69 Million Things I Hate About You, after the scene i went back to 1.5.4 version. Of course i connected my gmail account to save my progress on both versions. You can try that. How do you save your progress in ver 1.6.2? Did your account get banned? I tried to login with my fb's account and then ... I couldn't even open the app because i got banned. (Sorry for my bad english ^^)

My account got banned during the whole banning spree so i made a new account during those days using another gmail account. I've been using that since then. This current account is not banned so when i login in version 1.6.2 i have no problems with saving my progress.
The wifi trick doesn't work in version 1.6.2 and i guess to pick choices in every story will need diamonds. Btw thanks for sharing
Yeah i know it doesnt hence i use the 1.5.4 version for normal gameplay. I opened the 1.6.2 version just to get through the buggy part. I actually did the same thing for Against the Wall, and managed to get past the frozen text issue.
1.6.2 mod works in the way of being able to make premium choices and continue playing even if diamonds and tickets are zero. But I continue the 1.5.4 version for now because I want to conserve my diamonds in the event this game is not modded anymore in the future. It's getting difficult to find a good mod for Chapters - although the 1.6.2 mod is a good one.
You can't install both version in your phone at the sometime. I use an emulator in my pc to play the game so it's much easier to switch between versions in my case. I logged in with my gmail account in both of those so that i can get through the buggy part. It might cause problems to have it logged in at both versions at the same time though i'm not sure. I uninstalled and reinstalled the other version while switching.
