"Dandy Dungeon's online service has been ended on Dec. 20th, 2018.
Thank all the players very much for playing.

400+ SB points. Game not updated since 2018. Quarter of a GB download vs the games 28MB size.
It begged the question, why, and is it worth it?
Well, being that I do so enjoy RPG's, I had to find out.

As I suspected from the size, this is NOT the game Dandy Dungeon.
Based on the package name of DMM.Games.Yamada, I was able to determine that this is the game
Legend of Brave Yamada
which is made by Onion Games, a different company and is based on the now dead Dandy Dungeon.

The game installs okay.
I get a logo screen.
Then it all goes black and nothing else happens.

Samsung Galaxy running Android 13.
The large size is due to the OBB included in the installation.

After a little more digging, I found that the game defaults to Japanese and is supposed to prompt for default English/Japanese prefferance. Fortunately my Kanji is suitable that I was able to restart and do a change.
Now that it is set to English (American... trust me, American's haven't spoken English in nearly 3 centuries), it is working good.

Yes. This is one of those games that I like to try and preserve.
It is an RPG, it acts as a client to a server even though it doesn't have to do so, and it becomes useless when the server goes down. What Onion did was to rewrite the client to work strictly offline and then added all the cached files from the server and re-release it under a new title... not unlike some of my own releases.
The mods Sub7 added work great and it is good to be able to play a game that would have otherwise been lost to the ages.
